Discover your inner unconscious being.
· Review provided by walmart.com · May 10, 2023
Scientific, mystical and practical examples with explanations of why it is possible to control our inner unconscious being. When I was in college back in the early 70's, I had read how a "guru" or "mystic" was able to demonstrate how he was able to stop his heart from beating for moments and restart at will. Since then I had a curiosity about such supernatural abilities. In the first 60 pages which I have read, I think I found the answers which I had been searching for. No, I do not to become a monk or seek ways to stop my heart or any other organ from working. I do want to learn more about myself. I'll leisurely read the rest of this revealing book.

The basic concepts of this book are worthy and we can all benefit from understanding how our past and the beliefs and feeling we carry into our future shapes everything we do. I also like the idea that Dispenza espouses that if we all became less hateful, less aggressive and less troubled, the world would be a better place. And there is plenty of evidence of the huge benefits of meditation.
But I found shortcomings in this book which at times annoyed the **** out of me. I'm scientifically trained, so I found the author's attempt to 'scientifically prove' or explain some of the effects and 'cures' to ailments and even cancer, frankly ludicrous and simply unscientific. The more 'science' he introduced in the book, the more annoyed I became. The other main objection I have is the thinly disguised marketing of the author's workshops, and many other material available online. I would like to count the number of times he mentioned his "advanced workshops".
Read the book for its main concepts and try to overcome the above limitations.

I didn't find this book very good. I think it can be helpful to some but does not take into account that neurodivergent people exists, is very ableist in that regard. It also doesn't take into consideration the oppressive systems that we all live under and make it so much harder for some of us to get out of/must work far harder than others to get the same result, some cannot just 'think' themselves out of oppression. Not to mention, he isn't even a Doctor or Scientist, he is a chiropractor, and has a BA degree in biochemistry with an emphasis on neuroscience, thats it! Which with what this book talks about is and can be very dangerous because he isn't qualified in what he is talking about. If you find it helpful that is great, but I would read with caution.
